In Anapanasati meditation (breath meditation),

Anapanasati · Breath meditation
Anapanasati is breath meditation: the attention of the mind rests on the normal, natural breath. Read how to practise it, what happens within, and the principles that guide the movement.
Breath meditation
In Anapanasati meditation (breath meditation),
the attention of the mind should constantly be on the normal, natural breath.
No “mantra” to be chanted…
No form of any ‘deity’ to be entertained in the mind…
No hathayogic pranayama like ‘kumbhaka’…
Holding the breath should not be attempted.
Four steps
Hands should be clasped and all fingers should go into all fingers.
The feet should be crossed.
The eyes should be closed.
Observe the normal, natural breath.
The inner progression
There is always a big material world in the mind. Emptying the big material world in the mind is called meditation.
Pyramid energy
pyramid meditation? Most people who have experimented with Pyramid Meditation describe themselves as experiencing a total relaxation of their body, followed by the shutting out of unnecessary external stimuli and irrelevant thoughts, and finally achieving an altered state of consciousness which allows them to concentrate on deeper inner levels.
Spiritual health is the ‘root’ … and physical health is the ‘fruit’.
A pyramid is a structure, construction or monument with a square as its base and four triangular sloping sides meeting at a common point, the vertex, at the apex. Each triangular sloping face is an isosceles triangle, with the two sloping sides being equal. The equal sides are all of equal length, and the faces are similar to each other and of equal area. The name comes from the Greek word “pyramis”.
Holistic living
Holistic living embraces the principle that body, mind and spirit are connected. We cannot heal one while ignoring the others. Our bodily dis-eases are a manifestation of our thoughts, beliefs and emotions. Practicing ahimsa, the principle of non-violence, increases our energy and leads to higher levels of consciousness.
Holistic care for the self necessarily entails caring for others. Thus, the 8th Guiding Principle of PSSM reminds us of right food: “No meat, no fish, no eggs.” By adopting a plant-based lifestyle and eating only according to our needs, we live in greater harmony with the source, and enjoy a life of greater ease.
Everything is energy. We eat that which is full of life, that which has absorbed the cosmic energy of the sun and undergone the process of photosynthesis.
Holistic living is not merely a concept, but a necessary lifestyle change that we must all make if we are to enjoy a life worth living.
Principles of the movement
Meditation is the only foundation of spiritual experiences. Doing meditation and teaching meditation are concurrent things. As we learn, we should teach; the more we teach, the more we learn. There are not ‘many’ ways of doing meditation. There is but one, and that is Anapanasati. This was the discovery of Gautama Buddha 2500 years back. The eighth point in the eightfold path of Buddha is ‘samma sati’, that is, the right way of doing meditation. Anapanasati is the only ‘samma sati’.
Every month, the full-moon nights are so very precious. We have to harvest the abundant energy, the cosmic energy, which is especially available in those nights: the three days around the full moon, that is, one day preceding the full-moon night, the full-moon night itself and one day after it. On these nights, we should do more intensive meditation.
Meditation is best done inside a pyramid or beneath a pyramid, or we can have a pyramid cap on our head. Meditation is thrice more energetic and more powerful when done inside or beneath a pyramid. Pyramids have to be specifically oriented to the ‘north-south’ magnetic axis when built on a permanent basis. Pyramids can be made of any material; preferably, crystals should be placed in the pyramid.
The physical body is nothing but the natural shadow of the mind. As the mind, so will be the body. Setting right the mind, we would have set right the body. Upset the mind, and the body becomes upset. Almost 90% of diseases are psychosomatic: created in the psyche, becoming evident in the physical body. The true science of health demands that we look closely and deeply at the mind. Spiritual health is the root and physical health is the fruit.
Vegetarianism is absolutely essential for spiritual life. In fact, spirituality and vegetarianism are synonymous. Everybody has to become a vegetarian. Quantum vibrational science is slowly recognizing the ill effects of animal food in human systems. The cardinal principle of any religious movement is love. Love is nothing other than being kind to our co-animal-beings of the Earth. Animals are not created as food for humans. Further, we can’t afford to overeat. We should eat only according to our need, not according to our greed. Only when we are hungry may we eat. If you are not hungry, you should never eat.
Spirituality is a matter of inner achievement, and there is nothing to show off to others.
We have to compulsorily teach meditation to the children. Taking care of the child, we have taken care of the whole humanity. Start teaching children from the age of five.
We learn from each and every person in general, and we are not disciples of any one person in particular. Becoming a master is the goal of life. As we think, so we become. From day one of entering into meditation and spirituality, we should treat ourselves as masters. There are no disciples and gurus; there are only junior masters and senior masters.
For earning money, we may sell vegetables, or we may take up farming, or we may sell music, or we may teach a language. However, earning money through teaching meditation is strictly forbidden. Teaching meditation should be absolutely free of any money considerations.
Idols are always beautiful. Sculpture is truly a fine art. However, idol ‘worship’ is simply meaningless. Neither does the worship of living masters have any true benefit. Living masters are sources of true inspiration. They are not objects of worship. We have to emulate the way of life of living masters. We ourselves are gods. So, where is the question of worshipping any other person? The point is to bring out the soul-essence from within our own selves through intense practice of meditation.
We all have our personal problems. Our personal problems have to be tackled by applying our own inner meditational strength. The more we increase our personal soul-energy, the more the external situations become conducive to our true goals. No guru can help us to ease our problems. Our problems are only challenges that are self-chosen before we are born, and they must be calmly endured. Meditation gives all the abilities we need to endure challenging life situations.
Some religions prescribe sexual abstinence as if it is an absolute prerequisite for the cultivation of spirituality. However, it is far from true. Sexuality is truly a source of human happiness and human health. Sexuality and spirituality are not mutually exclusive. Pyramid masters lead normal family, sexual lives. Friendships are the carry-home baggage for any soul. What survives the death of the physical body is only friendship.
Pyramid Masters are required to establish meditation centers in villages, towns or cities. Every Pyramid Master is a Bodhisattva or a Buddha. A “Bodhisattva” is a spiritual master who is stationed in one place and teaches all the persons who may approach him, and a “Buddha” is a spiritual master who moves from place to place and teaches all those who welcome him.
Sir Francis Bacon has emphatically stated that “Writing makes for perfect man”. All senior Pyramid Masters have to pen their meditational and spiritual experiences and publish them as a rule.
For Pyramid Masters
Pyramid Masters are the finest possible gems.
We all know the 18 principles of PSSM. But let us know a further 13 personal mandatory principles, to be impeccably followed by Pyramid Masters.
For any PSSM activity, Pyramid Masters should learn always to say ‘YES! YES! YES!’
Whether one participates in any program or not, never utter the word ‘NO’ from your mouth. If possible, help; or else be in silence. One should never speak out negativity towards PSSM activities.
We should always maintain a beautiful smile on the face.
The Pyramid Spiritual Work needs to be done by ourselves, but credit should always be given to everyone else.
Senior Pyramid Masters, while dealing with their own evolution, must also learn to respect and treat other Beginner Pyramid Masters equally.
Remember, we are always a unique member in a Pyramid Spiritual Group. Develop wholesome group consciousness.
Let us keep our surroundings as clean as possible; cleanliness is next to Godliness. Remember, Jaya Ho Swachha Bharath!
Personal hygiene, personal pleasures and personal Self Improvement practices are the daily principles to be followed whole-heartedly.
All purely physical needs, i.e., sleep and food, should be gradually reduced.
One must always be prepared to do even small and ‘menial’ tasks. Learn to work hard 24/7.
Never talk much about what happened in the distant past or what we hope to see in a distant future. However, there should always be clear-cut plans about what we are going to do in the immediate future, i.e., the next 24 hours.
Music/dance and games/sports are just as important activities as doing meditation and gathering Self-Knowledge.
We should always learn to wish good and the best to all those who hurt us, since they do it in ignorance.
We should always learn to give lots of Self-Appreciation for one’s own self.
